THE CAREL

OUR STRENGTHS

Founded in 1966 by the University of Poitiers and the Town of Royan, the CAREL offers intensive language programmes and immersion courses for school age and adult learners in English, German, Spanish, and French as a foreign language, both for French nationals and foreign students.

Every year we welcome more than 3000 people including 900 foreign students. The CAREL campus allows students from France and from all over the world to interact on a daily basis making it an ideal place to practice one’s language skills and discover other cultures.

The CAREL is an accredited exam centre to take the TOEIC, LINGUASKILL(BULATS), BRIGHTLANGUAGE and LEVELTEL aswell as for the DELF/DALF and TCF.

With more than 50 years of experience, the CAREL language centre is recognized worldwide for the value and quality of its courses, certified by the labels OPQF (Professional Quality Certifying Organization) and Qualite FLE (Excellent Quality in the Teaching of French as a Foreign Language) and by the referencing Datadock.

Free access to high-tech equipment. Space reserved for independent study featuring: Satellite TV, DVD and Audio equipment, computers, magazines and newspapers.

SPORT AND CULTURE

The Sport and Culture service team assists French and foreign trainees during their free time by offering sport and cultural activities, notably to discover the region. They also make available practical information concerning the city and the region, aswell as current activities and events.

Trainees will find free wifi access,individual computer booths, games,easy chairs and vending machines for drinks and snacks in our common area for convivial intercultural moments.

RECEPTION AND ACCOMMODATION SERVICE

Throughout our many years of experience we have built up a reliable network of host families based on mutual trust.Our families are chosen for their their conviviality and their sense of hospitality.We also work with a large range of hotels aswell as studio apartment and flat owners in Royan.
